The Makita DCS34 came out of the box with only one thing on its mind,start me up and point me towards those trees. It gobbled em up and asked for more, anything that i could throw its way was no challenge for this little guy. I must admit that i was a little hesitant to consider this saw for purchase, mainly because i could only find one review on it but it seemed positive in most regards. And the fact that it's German made swayed me a bit too. I've used my fair share of Makita power tools through my 30 year+ construction career and have become a big fan of the brand. This saw has the look and feel of quality that exceeds the price i paid for it. It acts like a chainsaw twice its size. The motor is very powerful and keeps this thing humming, you can tell it is really well made.My one complaint and the reason I did not give 5 stars is WHERE IS THE INFO FOR REPLACEMENT CHAINS MAKITA? How on earth do you sell a chainsaw on Amazon without providing a link to buy replacement chains? That is just plain dumb, I went looking all over Home Depot and Lowes and they do not carry this specific chain so I finally found it online and ordered accordingly. A big inconvenience. Like I said the machine itself is well made and very powerful so I would recommend owning one. |
