Dad and Grandpa had wood to cut with their chain saws so this seemed like a natural and it truly was a hit. It's well made, comes with the batteries installed. It's as real as you want to get for a three year old who was happy to use it all day. The "chain" is rounded, soft plastic that rotates realistically. Manny is a familiar character. It's loud enough to hear and understand, but the noise level is tolerable, at least for a couple of hours... then when Manny says "let's cut some more wood" you don't know whether to laugh or cry...laughing works best.
